At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan revolutionized his performance on the folk music scene, switching to electric music and turning rock into the voice of a generation, defining one of the most transformative moments in folk music of the 20th century. Scenes shot to depict the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan performed in public with an electric guitar for the first time, were filmed in the coastal resort town of Cape May, New Jersey. Minimal repair was required given the complex’s commitment to National Historic Landmark designation due to its concentration of Victorian architecture as well as other 19th and 20th century architectural motifs.
