Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of, let’s say, a troubled sociopath
One of the parts of the series that I like the most is the emotions that normal people show, thus forcing Dexter to imitate them. Good laughs when Dexter’s feigned emotions become real and he is scared out of his mind, as in his relationship with his "girlfriend" Rita, a mother of two and a victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend. I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s acting as Dexter’s sister Debra, she adds a nice color to the show without drifting into clichés.
A suspenseful story, lots of detail and one of the best opening sequences ever
