In an important shot of Las Vegas, you can see the Sphere, a structure completed and open in 2023. However, in the film, Eddie mentions that he and Venom they have been together for a year. The first Venom movie takes place in 2018, so that makes this movie take place in 2019, 4 years before the Sphere existed.. Venom: Eddie… Featured on The 7PM Project: Episode of October 25, 2024 (2024).
However, the story and screenplay are still as flat as ever
It’s really impressive that Sony managed to make the most mediocre trilogy ever with such an iconic character. In terms of enjoyment, Eddie and Venom continue to be a delightfully entertaining duo. In this third movie, they’re basically on a road trip, and that was relatively fun for the most part. The final act of the film was also quite an enjoyable CGI action fest with some emotional scenes. The narrative feels half-baked, feeling like a chain of things happening haphazardly.
It’s a mediocre final entry
Useless characters that don’t add much. They throw jokes at you just to see on what ground. Rhys Ifans and Chiwetel Ejiofor’s characters could have been played by anyone, but they feel like they were done on purpose because they knew fans recognized them from other Marvel projects. The damn Knull looks cool, but it’s just there to tease for future projects. Overall, it’s better than the second film, but on par with the first.
I’m worried about Spiderman 4 and hope Sony doesn’t screw up that movie anyway
Sony continues to screw up their universe and we all know that Venom is coming back somehow.
